Austrian GP: Estlea wins action packed Austrian thriller

Today's CRC race was a thrilling affair.

Off the startline, Chantelle Hawke immediately got the jump on Alex Moores, whilst Hannah Doran got the jump on Will Estlea, before she spun and dropped down the order.

At the front the order remained static until the soft tyre shod Chantelle Hawke pitted, knowing she had a chance of the win. She rejoined in clean air until she caught up to Toby Jones, and they collided at Rindt Kurve which put both into a spin. Hawke recovered though and refused to give up.

This put Alex Moores in prime position till he spun, which dropped him to fourth behind Dan Milliner. This left Will Estlea out in front and when he pitted he looked in prime position to take the win, however he was being caught by not just Dan Milliner, who had steered clear of all the carnage, but Chantelle Hawke, who on the soft tyres was lapping a second faster than the leading pair. Whilst Alex Moores was out of the equation due to a poor stop.

Estlea hit traffic which allowed Dan Milliner through and Chantelle Hawke to catch up. Hawke wasted no time clearing the reigning champion. She wouldn't have to work hard to pass Milliner as the Master Force driver collided with a backmarker which dropped him behind both Hawke and Estlea. Chantelle Hawke was now in prime position to take a thrilling victory, which midrace looked impossible until tragically, less than a minute after she inherited the lead, her brakes failed, forcing her out of the race with just a handful of laps to go.

This left Will Estlea to inherit the lead which he wouldn't lose, as he crossed the line to take his fifth win of the season, ahead of Dan Milliner and Alex Moores!
